"As the AoPC continues to grow and develop, it seeks to preserve the vision to "teach and empower pastoral caregivers" given us by colleagues in ministry, our institutional founders, sponsors, and supporters:
Through study and classroom experience our students often become aware of how their life experiences have strengthened and wounded them in ways that allows them to be open to professional counseling as a step toward personal healing and vocational growth. We have a confidence born of experience in the above organizations to provide counseling services for students that may request referral.
The process of the AoPC aids in vocational discernment, enabling students to pursue higher levels of academic and/or experiential instruction (e.g. CPE, MSW, Seminary, Pastoral Counseling, etc.) For this reason, the AoPC has initiated and maintains collegial relationships with several academic and professional institutions such as:
*Offers educational credits for participation in the AoPC program.
**For purposes of life-long formation, we encourage graduates of the AoPC to apply for general membership in the AAPC as Pastoral Care Specialists.
